Here's some screenshots of the advection ice and ice spears used in a level from Gears 5.
I was responsible for some of the ice spears as seen in my other post, and was also responsible for maintaining the shader of the icicles wrapped around the trees towards the end of production, making a few changes and additions. I also made a few of the low poly meshes for them. Huge thanks to Kurt Kupser for setting up the original shader for it, and Mandy Morland for generating the shapes of the icicles around the trees in Houdini. I also sculpted a few of the ice pieces found on the rooftops together with Kurt Kupser, Joey Kutzer, Cat Yang and Akio Komoto, also, thanks to Malcolm Andrieshyn for the strong leadership, and Aryan Hanbeck and Jamie McNulty for art direction.
